The "eyes" have it

Olivia is bundled for bed. They both kept their eyes closed most of day after the surgery.

This is Olivia looking pretty in pink. (This is not a hand-me-down, we consider it "like new condition".)

Olivia is stretching out.
Clara is ready for bed.

Clara was not happy about her surgery and she voiced that very loudly. After it was done she settled down and went right to sleep.

I am happy but don't ask me to open my eyes.

If there was any doubt about them being identical, this certainly proves they are.
The laser surgery was done to cauterize some of the blood vessels in their eyes, if not treated it can cause the retina to detach and have serious consequences. There will be follow up examinations to see how it looks. They believe the condition may be caused from the oxygen they received and there may be a genetic component, too. They came through fine (praise God) and are getting eye drops.

Brief update

The girls had their laser eye surgeries last night. Clara was first and then Olivia. Katie said it went fine. At 12:09 a.m. they were both sleeping soundly. More pictures and updates later today. God bless you.

The Twins

Peacefully, Clara is settling down for a good nights sleep.

In the pictures, you really have to look carefully to see who is who.

Look at those folds in her arms. Ya!

Only when you are a baby are you that happy to be on a scale.Olivia is sleeping peacefully.

Cute outfit, Babe!

Here I am!

Hats make the girl.
Tomorrow the girls will be having laser surgery on their eyes. This is a very common procedure for preterm babies. The physician flies from city to city to perform the surgeries. Please pray for the surgeon and his team and our girls and their parents. We ask God to protect them and keep everyone strong. As you can see they continuing to make great progress. Thank you for your support.

New crib for Olivia

I think I am going to like this says Olivia.

Guess who is wearing clothes!?!

Cute Clara.

It fits now, Gloria.

Clara is practicing her Heisman trophy stance.

What a sweet face!
Yesterday, the girls had their first round of childhood shots. They seemed to take it in stride.
Olivia is now in a crib, which means she is keeping up her own body temperature. Every day brings exciting changes. We are forever grateful for your prayers and constant outpouring of love. God is shining his light on the babies and their family. Praise Him.
