The "eyes" have it

Olivia is bundled for bed. They both kept their eyes closed most of day after the surgery.

This is Olivia looking pretty in pink. (This is not a hand-me-down, we consider it "like new condition".)

Olivia is stretching out.
Clara is ready for bed.

Clara was not happy about her surgery and she voiced that very loudly. After it was done she settled down and went right to sleep.

I am happy but don't ask me to open my eyes.

If there was any doubt about them being identical, this certainly proves they are.
The laser surgery was done to cauterize some of the blood vessels in their eyes, if not treated it can cause the retina to detach and have serious consequences. There will be follow up examinations to see how it looks. They believe the condition may be caused from the oxygen they received and there may be a genetic component, too. They came through fine (praise God) and are getting eye drops.
Quote of the Day:
A mother's arms are made of tenderness
and children sleeping soundly in them.

This picture of Katie and my granddaughters has to be one of my very favorites. Just look at those eyes and that smile. When words can't explain how it feels this picture can. Pops

Good job girls with your surgery! You girls are strong little ones! Can't believe Clara has such a huge double chin!! They are getting so big, so fast! Love your haircut Katie. Happy Nurses week & Mother's day to you. Happy that things are smooth sailing, so far... just keep taking those "forward steps"! Thinking of you guys.
